I’m trying very hard not to post links to stuff that’s excessively work-related, mostly because I find the topic of how my kind of job is done—the process of making software—profoundly boring. Boring for me, to the point of wanting to spare everyone else from it. But just this morning I had to sit through a meeting where someone scoffed at the “never-AI people” and also showed that they never ever read articles like this one. And where someone else, too high up to be ignored, said “We’re not gonna have a choice” about using slop machines to write code.
Fuck that.
But someone out there is still able to do their homework.
