It’s a low-drama season for me:
- Animal Practice
- Ben and Kate
- How I Met Your Mother
- The Mindy Project
- New Girl
- Parks and Recreation
- 30 Rock
- Up All Night
Some of these are still on probation, but judging from the first few episodes they might still live in my Hulu queue no matter what, for those times when nothing else is on. In the same spirit, I’ve also been enjoying following random Netflix suggestions, such as Don’t Trust the B— in Apartment 23. We’ll see if it gets a spot on my regular schedule. I still don’t see why they can’t use the word “bitch” in the title, however.
A couple of months ago I decided to stop watching Breaking Bad very early in season four. The reason is simply that I realized couldn’t give a rat’s ass about the story. I know, not very scientific as an explanation. But as one has the right to not finish a book, one also has the right not to finish a TV show, no matter how good it’s supposed to be. (Please, define “good”.)
In the meantime, I’ve caught up with Weeds up until the seventh season. I haven’t liked it enough to buy a season during its first run, but I’ve enjoyed it enough to binge on it when it comes out on Neflix. I’ll do that once more.
I also have a backlog of about three seasons of The Office, but it might be a while before I watch them. I still need to detox from it.
I am, of course, all up-to-speed with Mad Men, which I expect to be a big topic at next year’s PCA/ACA.
